Kazakh Activists Join Hunger Strike Over Ban On Opposition Groups

Several activists from Oral city in west Kazakhstan and Shymkent in the south of the country have joined a hunger strike announced on June 20 by a group of activists in Almaty and Nur-Sultan. The protesters are demanding a ban on activities by the opposition Koshe party and the Democratic Choice of Kazakhstan movement (DVK) be lifted, as well as the release of activists.
