Khamenei Criticizes West For Not Offering Nuclear Concessions

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has criticized the West for not offering concessions in last week’s talks aimed at resolving the standoff over Tehran’s nuclear program.

Ayatollah Khamenei, who has the last say in all state matters, said the West was using the nuclear issues as a pretext to impose sanctions.

The comments were Khamenei’s first public reaction to the talks in Almaty between Iran, the United States, China, Russia, Britain, France, and Germany.

The Iranian leader said Tehran will judge the intentions of Western countries in the next talks.

He said the nuclear issue is a challenge facing his country, but he added that it is not a “detriment” and would not be.

Iran says all its nuclear activities are peaceful. But Western countries accuse of Iran of seeking nuclear weapons.
