Kyrgyzstan's parliament has approved a draft law that bans "propaganda" supporting same-sex relations and the creation of any group defending the rights of sexual minorities. The legislation is similar to laws in Russia that make it a criminal offense to publicly support gay rights. Members of the gay community in Kyrgyzstan say they already face hostility and violence, and they fear that the situation will worsen. (Reuters)
