The prosecutor of the special tribunal for Lebanon, Daniel Bellemare, who is investigating the murder of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri, today said he has filed an expanded indictment.
A statement from the tribunal said expanding the indictment was a decision made "as a result of gathering and analysis of further evidence." The tribunal did not elaborate.
The original indictment was filed on January 17.
Hariri was killed by a bomb in February 2005. The UN set up a tribunal at The Hague in 2009 to investigate who was behind the murder.
