The authorities in Macedonia have released video taken by police of the May 9 gunbattle in Kumanovo in which eight policemen and 14 alleged gunmen were killed. The authorities say the operation was conducted against ethnic Albanian "terrorists," but this has not been independently verified. Macedonia witnessed armed conflict between government forces and ethnic Albanians in 2001. (Reuters)
