Scenes Of Destruction In Macedonia After Shootout

Residents of the Macedonian city of Kumanovo surveyed their damaged homes and property in the wake of a gun battle that killed eight police officers and 14 suspected gunmen. Five of the gunmen in the May 9 shootout were identified as citizens of neighboring Kosovo. Macedonia saw a conflict between ethnic Albanian rebels and government forces in 2001.
