U.S.-born mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Jeff Monson has paid tribute to the founder of the Soviet Union, Vladimir Lenin.
Monson joined Russian Communists led by party leader Gennady Zyuganov on Moscow's Red Square on April 22 to mark Lenin's 146th birthday.
He arrived at the ceremony wearing a T-shirt with “U.S.S.R.” printed on it.
After laying flowers at Lenin's mausoleum, in which the Bolshevik leader's body has been kept since his death in 1924, Monson said, "Communism is the true path."
Monson, 45, also known as The Snowman has a record of 58 wins, 25 losses, and one draw in MMA competitions.
He was granted Russian citizenship last year.
