A Moscow court on November 21 rejected journalist and Nobel laureate Dmitry Muratov's appeal against the Justice Ministry's September decision to add him to the so-called foreign agents registry. The ministry's representative reiterated its stance, saying that Muratov "used foreign platforms to disseminate opinions aimed at forming a negative attitude toward the foreign and domestic policy of the Russian Federation." Muratov is editor in chief of Novaya gazeta and co-winner of the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. He said at the hearing he never received any financial support from any foreign person or organization.
