Suicide Bomber Targets Shi'ite Mosque In Pakistan

Pakistani officials say a suicide bomber has blown himself up outside a Shi’ite mosque in the city of Rawalpindi, near Islamabad, killing at least five people.

Police said the attack in the evening of January 9 also wounded 13 people.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but Sunni extremists have targeted the country's Shi’ite minority in the past.

A bomb targeting Shi'a at a volleyball match killed at least five people in Pakistan's restive northwest on January 4.
