Obama Says Payments To Iran Were No Secret, And Not Ransom

U.S. President Barack Obama strongly defended the administration's payment of $400 million in cash to Iran, saying it did not amount to ransom for the release of American prisoners. Iran released the five detainees on January 16, after the United States agreed to grant clemency to seven Iranians who were held mostly for sanctions violations. Obama said the payments settled a longstanding legal claim. They coincided with the lifting of international sanctions against Tehran as part of a nuclear agreement reached last year. (AP Video)
