A group representing Muslims in America has condemned Islamic militants and any role they may have played in the deadly gun attack in Orlando. The FBI said that Omar Mateen, a U.S.-born citizen of Afghan descent, swore allegiance to Islamic State militants just before he killed 50 people in a gay nightclub on June 12. The head of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Nihad Awad, told reporters that the militants do not represent Muslims, and politicians should not try to "score points" from the tragedy. (AFP)
