Spate Of Attacks Targets Pakistani Military, Police

Several Pakistani police and soldiers have been killed and injured in a spate of attacks.

Two intelligence soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb on June 9 while they were clearing a road in northwestern Pakistan ahead of a military convoy.

A third soldier was wounded in that incident.

A second blast near a checkpoint on the same road injured one soldier.

Two other soldiers were reportedly wounded in a bomb attack on a convoy about 20 kilometers east of Miranshah in North Waziristan.

Also on June 9, gunmen riding motorcycles opened fire on police in the city of Karachi, killing two officers and wounding a third.

Seven people, including one police officer, were killed in several shooting incidents in Karachi on June 8.
