Pakistani Prime Minister Due In Kazakhstan

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is due to arrive in Kazakhstan on August 25 at the start of a two-day visit.

Sharif is scheduled to hold talks with President Nursultan Nazarbaev and Prime Minister Karim Massimov in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

Talks are expected to focus on bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues.

"Pakistan accords high priority to its deep historical and cultural bonds with the Central Asian region. It is committed to expand cooperative relations with these states. A number of agreements are expected to be signed during the visit," the Pakistani Foreign Office said in a statement issued on August 24.
