Police in Pakistan say gunmen riding on motorcycles have killed two paramilitary officers and wounded another in the southwestern city of Quetta.
Wasay Khan, a spokesman for Pakistan's Frontier Constabulary, said the October 14 attack targeted the paramilitary troops while they were on guard duty in Quetta, the volatile capital of Balochistan Province.
He said the gunmen fled after the attack.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
Quetta has been the center of a low-level insurgency by separatist groups in Pakistan that are demanding more autonomy and a greater share in Balochistan Province's natural-gas and oil resources.
Quetta also has been a base for Afghan Taliban leaders since the Taliban regime was ousted from Kabul in late 2001 by a U.S.-led invasion.
