PESHAWAR, Pakistan -- Pakistani police say a bombing at a camp for internally displaced people near Peshawar has killed at least 12 people.
The police chief of the Pabbi Nowshera district told RFE/RL the attack at the Jalozai camp happened as aid was being distributed to refugees.
Police chief Bahroz Khan said the bomb was attached to a car and at least two children have died.
Reports said as many as 30 people were wounded.
The large camp once hosted Afghan refugees, but is now a refuge for Pakistanis who have fled unrest in northwestern tribal districts close to the Afghan border.
Those areas are strongholds for the Taliban and other militants but Pakistani Taliban spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan denied his group was responsible.
