Pakistani Taliban Release Video Showing Kidnapped Tribal Leaders

A purported spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban militant group has released a video of two tribal leaders who had been kidnapped in northwestern Pakistan last week.

The two tribal elders from the North Waziristan tribal region, Malak Janan and Malak Mazagai, were abducted five days ago in the federally administered Kurram agency.

They were on their way to the eastern Afghan province of Khost, where thousands of refugees from North Waziristan are living.

On February 17, Radio Mashaal's correspondent in the city of Dera Ismail Khan received a video from Saifullah Wazir, who claims to be the spokesman for a faction of the Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) organization.

The six-minute video shows the two tribal elders apparently in good health.
