Pakistani intelligence officials have been quoted as saying two separate attacks today by U.S. drones have killed at least six suspected militants in North Waziristan, near the Afghanistan border.
The AFP and Associated Press news agencies quoted officials as saying the first strike hit a vehicle killing four militants.
The strike hit in Datta Khel, some 40 kilometers west of North Waziristan's main town of Miranshah, AFP reported.
The second attack was in the same area and targeted militants on a motorcycle, killing at least two more militants.
The region, close to the Afghan border, is a key battle zone in the conflict against Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants, and the U.S. military is believed to launch drone strikes on suspected militants in the region.
