Armenian opposition leader Nikol Pashinian has urged lawmakers to elect him as the country's interim prime minister. In a speech to parliament ahead of the May 1 vote, Pashinian said political change in Armenia was "unavoidable and irreversible." Pashinian has been leading mass street protests since mid April. He was the only candidate for prime minister following the resignation of Serzh Sarkisian on April 23.
