Peshawar Shopkeepers Vow To Defy Government Coronavirus Closure Order

Shopkeepers in northwestern Pakistan took to the streets to express their anger over the government's order to close markets and businesses to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Hundreds of businessmen gathered in Peshawar's historical Qissa Khani bazaar on May 7 to announce that they will not close their shops from May 8 to 16, covering the holiday period for the Muslim festival of Eid, as instructed by the government.
