Protesters Against Macedonia Name Deal Clash With Greek Police

Greek nationalists protested outside the parliament in Athens on January 20 against the country's agreement to accept Macedonia's name change to North Macedonia. Some protesters clashed with police blocking access routes to the parliament building. Greek hard-liners argue that Macedonia is also the name of Greece's northern region and believe that the use of the name by a neighboring country undermines Greek historical rights.
