Reports Say Palestinian Killed By Israeli Fire

Medical officials say a Palestinian has been shot dead by Israeli troops near the Gaza border.

An Israeli army spokeswoman could not confirm the incident, which is said to have taken place on November 23, two days into a tense cease-fire, saying only that "disturbances" had broken out on the Palestinian side of the border early that day, prompting soldiers to fire warning shots.

If confirmed, the death would be the first casualty since Israel and the Islamist movement Hamas agreed the cease-fire in their week-long conflict.

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri accused Israel of violating the Egyptian-mediated truce.

Meanwhile, Israeli authorities have announced the arrest of a suspect in the bombing of a Tel Aviv bus that injured 27 people.

Officials said the suspect was an ethnic Arab Israeli citizen with connections to Hamas and the Islamic Jihad group.
