Six civilians were killed when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb in Afghanistan's western Farah Province, officials said on July 5.
The vehicle was in the Momin Abad area of Shiba Koh district traveling toward the capital of the province on July 4 when it hit the bomb, which also wounded six people, officials said, adding that children were among those killed.
The most recent incident brings the number of Afghan civilians killed by roadside mines to at least 17 within only one week.
On July 3, at least four civilians were killed and one other was wounded when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb in southern Kandahar.
Five days ago, seven civilians were killed and five others were wounded by another roadside bomb in eastern Nangarhar.
Civilians are bearing the brunt of the continued war between the Taliban and the Afghan government.
Also on July 5, a woman and child were killed when a rocket struck their house in Kabul.
At least one more child was also injured in the blast, Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish said, adding that all victims were members of the same family.
