Iraqi police and medical officials say at least one roadside bomb exploded on May 10 as a police patrol passed through the center of Tikrit, north of Baghdad, killing at least two police officers.
At least one other officer was wounded in the attack.
Although there was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bomb assault, Al-Qaeda's offshoot in Iraq has vowed to conduct revenge attacks after the May 2 killing of its leader Osama bin Laden in a U.S. raid in Pakistan.
