Romanians Hope For 'A Better Future' As They Elect President

Romanians cast their ballots in the first round of the presidential election on November 24. Voters speaking to RFE/RL in the capital, Bucharest, seemed united in their wish for a more attractive future that could decrease the drain of talents to Western Europe. In Romania's semi-presidential system, the successor to incumbent President Klaus Iohannis could play a key role in the country's foreign policy, particularly on continued support for its embattled neighbor, Ukraine.
