Romanian Farmers, Truck Drivers Demand Lower Taxes, Higher Subsidies

Romanian farmers and truck drivers continued protests across the country on January 15, as negotiations with the government failed to reach agreement. Protesters demand the government provide assistance, including subsidies, to counter high insurance rates and to compete with a flood of Ukrainian products entering the European Union.
