Satellite Images Reveal Massive Scale Of Russian Ammunition Storage Explosions

A military facility near Oktyabrskiy, in Russia's Tver region, photographed by satellite on September 18.

The storage site was believed to hold Iskander and Tochka-U missiles. Both weapons have been used extensively against Ukraine.

The September 18 attack was one of several on Russian military storage sites apparently carried out by Ukraine in recent days using a domestically produced cruise missile

The Oktyabrskiy facility seen on September 18. Hours after this photo was taken, scores of Ukrainian cruise missiles slammed into the site.

Witnesses on the ground reported hearing the distinctive whine of turbojet engines amid the strikes, giving credence to the theory that Ukraine's "Palyanytsia" cruise missiles were used.

The still smoldering Oktyabrskiy base appears to have been largely destroyed in this September 22 photo.

Photos taken before and after a series of strikes deep inside Russian territory show entire storage facilities have been leveled by attacks apparently made using Ukrainian-made cruise missiles.
