Deadly Gas Explosion Hits Russian Apartment Block

A gas explosion destroyed several floors of a residential block located in the city of Orekhovo-Zuyevo, some 85 kilometers east of Moscow, on April 4. At least one person was killed and several injured. A recovery operation, involving rescue dogs and heavy machinery, was taking place as residents of Moscow and the surrounding region have been ordered to stay at home as part of strict quarantine measures aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
