A prosecutor on December 14 asked a court in Moscow to sentence self-exiled film director Ivan Vyrypayev to 10 years in prison on charges of "discrediting Russian armed forces" involved in Moscow’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. In April, the Basmanny district court in the Russian capital issued an arrest warrant for Vyrypayev, who is currently outside Russia. Vyrypayev publicly condemned the Kremlin's full-scale aggression against Ukraine launched in February 2022. He renounced his Russian citizenship in May 2022 and obtained a Polish passport.
