Some 400 Russian sailors arrived in Saint-Nazare in western France on June 30 to receive training on operating a French warship that is due to be delivered to Russia by the end of the year. France has agreed to sell two of the Mistral helicopter carriers to Russia this year in a $1.64 billion deal. The United States and some of its allies have urged France to reconsider the deal because of Russia's involvement in the crisis in Ukraine, but French officials say they intend to honor the contract.
