Seaplane Crashes In Siberia, Killing Both People On Board

The West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office said on August 2 that a seaplane crashed in the region of Krasnoyarsk, killing both people on board. The private seaplane crashed while taking off from the Dudinka River in the Dolgan-Nenets autonomous district on the Taimyr Peninsula. The aircraft caught fire after it hit the ground. Rescue workers extinguished the fire and the regional transportation department's investigative unit said it had launched a probe into the possible "violation of safety rules."
