Touring Sites Of Terror With Russia's Memorial

Awareness-building is one of the main activities of the Russian human rights organization Memorial, which the Justice Ministry is now seeking to shut down for alleged "foreign agent" status. Memorial conducts free tours in Moscow to acquaint people with key sites tied to Stalin's reign of terror, as well as the group's own work to keep memories of the repressions alive. A recent tour stopped at the Solovetsky Stone, a monument to prisoners of the Gulag system. (RFE/RL's Russian Service)
