Seven young men, including five teenagers, have been arrested in Russia's second-largest city of St. Petersburg in connection with the killing of an Uzbek national.
St. Petersburg’s Investigative Committee said on November 22 that the seven suspects have confessed to stabbing the Uzbek man earlier this month.
The committee said the case has been classified as a murder motivated by ethnic hatred.
Dozens of Russian ultranationalists attacked scores of migrant workers from Central Asia and the Caucasus at the city's Uldenaya metro station and at a nearby marketplace on the Day of People's Unity on November 4.
Two migrant workers from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan were found stabbed to death in the city that day.
