Russian opposition leader and anticorruption campaigner Aleksei Navalny was defiant after his arrest in Moscow, pledging to organize mass legal challenges against the detention of around 1,000 people at protests across Russia and to take part in the 2018 presidential election. Navalny, who was speaking on March 27, was fined $350 for taking part in what the authorities said was an illegal protest. (Reuters)
