Aleksei Uminsky

The Russian Orthodox Church on January 13 published a verdict calling for the expulsion of a priest who has made anti-war remarks and who failed to pray for the “victory of Holy Russia” in its war of aggression against Ukraine, according to Russian media. The verdict against Aleksei Uminsky will be sent to the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, for his signature. When asked about the decision, Uminsky told the news outlet Meduza that "my principled position is not to comment."
