A court in Siberia on May 20 sentenced anti-war activist Ilya Baburin to 25 years in prison on a high-treason charge that stemmed from allegations that the 24-year-old planned to set several military recruitment centers on fire. Baburin, who was also found guilty of carrying out an arson attack on a music school and participating in the activities of the Ukrainian far-right Azov armed group, rejected all of the charges. Baburin's prison term is the longest one handed to an anti-war activist in Russia amid the government's recent crackdown on charges related to arson attacks on military recruitment centers.
