Three top officials at Russia's Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center have lost their jobs over last month's crash of a Proton-M rocket.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told journalists that the center's deputy director-general, Aleksandr Kobzar, the director of the assembling branch, Valery Grekov, and the chief of the technical control department, Mikhail Lebedev, have been dismissed.
Rogozin also said a number of other officials at the center have received administrative punishments, adding that the investigation of the accident will continue until late September.
The unmanned Russian rocket carrying three satellites crashed shortly after liftoff from the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan in July.
Media reports said the estimated loss from the three satellites, meant for Russia's GLONASS satellite navigation system, was about $200 million.
