Uzbekistan-born Russian tycoon Alisher Usmanov, who is under Western sanctions over Moscow's war in Ukraine, has asked the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) to cancel his membership, as he was heading into "retirement." Usmanov's letter to the RSPP appeared on the Brief telegram channel on January 23. The RBK news agency quoted sources as saying the letter was original and RSPP will decide on the matter on January 25.
