Police in the Russian city of Krasnodar have searched the offices of the Crew Against Torture, the human rights group's members said on May 4. Rights activists said the searches were linked to investigations of an unspecified criminal case launched in the Republic of North Ossetia in the North Caucasus. After the searches, police detained the group's lawyer for questioning. Last month, police searched the group's offices in the cities of Pyatigorsk and Nizhny Novgorod.
