Two Dead After Russian Coal Mine Blast

Officials in Russia say two coal miners were killed after a blast at a Siberian coal mine.

The blast occurred on January 22 at the Dzerzhinsky mine in the Siberian city of Prokopyevsk, in Kemerovo Oblast.

More than 100 miners who were underground at the time of the blast made it to the surface to safety.

The mine was established in 1935 and is due to be closed in four years.

A methane blast at a coal mine in northern Russia almost one year ago killed 18 miners.
