A 29-year-old history teacher in Russia's Komi Republic in the Urals has been sentenced to 5 1/2 years in prison for his online posts supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russia's unprovoked invasion. The Second Western Military District Court sentenced Nikita Tushkanov on May 11 after finding him guilty of "the repetitive discrediting of Russia's armed forces and the justification of terrorism."
