Kremlin Welcomes Xi-Zelenskiy Call On Ukraine, But Says Russia's Aims Remain The Same

The Kremlin said on April 27 it welcomed anything that could bring an end to the Ukraine conflict closer when asked what it thought of a phone call the day before between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. But Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia still needed to achieve the aims of what it calls its "special military operation" in Ukraine.
