Russia has urged North and South Korea to stop "muscle flexing" and begin dialogue, a day after South Korean President Lee Myung-bak said peace talks should be revived.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksei Borodavkin added that his country supported China's call for an emergency meeting of the six powers seeking to resolve tensions on the peninsula, fuelled by last month's deadly shelling of a South Korean border island by the North.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu today reiterated Beijing's support for the resumption of six-party negotiations.
