TULA, Russia -- A former police officer in the city of Tula, about 200 kilometers south of Moscow, has been jailed for 10 years for killing a suspect, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.
Former police Captain Pavel Kozlov, 26, was found guilty of beating to death in 2008 a man who was brought to the police station as a suspect in a minor crime.
Kozlov was the head of a Tula city police investigative unit at the time of the killing.
