Russia's space agency says the next manned mission to the International Space Station (ISS) will be delayed by about 45 days because of a test failure of a Soyuz reentry capsule.
Roscosmos official Aleksei Krasnov said the launch to the ISS scheduled for March 16 will be pushed back about six weeks, as will the following scheduled launch.
Krasnov said the delays are not expected to be a problem for the current six-person crew now aboard the space station.
The announcement marks the latest setback for Russia's space program.
In mid-January, a failed probe to Mars crashed into the Pacific, and in August a Progress cargo mission to the ISS crashed after liftoff.
The United States relies on Russia for transportation into space since retiring its shuttle fleet last July.
