A court in Russia's Far Eastern city of Vladivostok has sentenced six men -- nicknamed the "Russian Rambos" -- for the murder of three police officers, as well as attempted murder, robbery, theft, and illegal weapons possession.
Three members of the group -- Aleksandr Kovtun, Aleksei Nikitin, and Vladimir Ilyutikov -- received life in prison on April 28.
Three other defendants -- Maksim Kirillov, Roman Savchenko, and Vadim Kovtun -- were sentenced to jail terms of between eight and 25 years.
The group -- also known as the "Primorye Partisans" -- was captured in 2010 after thousands of law enforcement agents took part in one of the largest manhunts in Russia in recent years.
The group explained their attacks as a protest against "corruption and lawlessness" in Russian law enforcement.
Two members of the gang committed suicide during the three-day siege by police.
