Russian human rights organizations Memorial and OVD-Info have called on the European Commission and the Council of Europe to prevent the extradition to Russia of a Russian man detained in Belarus after his daughter's anti-war drawing brought attention to his social media posts against the Kremlin's invasion of Ukraine. Aleksei Moskalyov was sentenced to two years in prison in absentia by a Russian court after it convicted him of "discrediting Russia's armed forces," a charge Russian authorities have been using against any criticism of the war in Ukraine.
