Pakistani intelligence officials say as many as seven Pakistani Taliban militants were killed early on August 19 in North Waziristan near the Afghan border by missiles fired from unmanned U.S. spy planes.
The officials say the drone strikes targeted and struck two vehicles that were transporting militants near Mana in North Waziristan -- an area dominated by Pakistani Taliban commander Hafiz Gul Bahadur.
On August 18, a U.S. drone strike in the same area reportedly killed five militants thought to be from the Gul Bahadur group.
