People in the northern Serbian city of Novi Sad lit candles outside a railway station late on November 1 after its concrete canopy collapsed and killed at least 14 people. Serbia has declared a period of national mourning. Cabinet members say an investigation will be launched into the failure of the outdoor construction, which was built in 1964. The station had reopened just a few months ago following three years of reconstruction, although authorities said the canopy had not been part of the renovation.
