Serbian Curfew Turns Belgrade Into A Ghost Town

The normally bustling streets and parks of Serbia's capital, Belgrade, were deserted after the Serbian government ordered a weekend curfew in an effort to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. RFE/RL filmed an empty city on Sunday, April 5, under the measure in force from Saturday afternoon through Monday morning. Limited exceptions were allowed for pet owners. Three weeks ago, Serbia imposed a night curfew and mandatory self-isolation for elderly people.
