A roadside bomb has killed two police officers and five civilians in southwestern Afghanistan.
Officials say the casualties occurred when a roadside bomb targeted a police truck in Zaranj, the capital of southwestern Nimroz Province on December 20.
Muhammad Sarwar Subat, the governor of Nimroz, says the blast hit the vehicle as it headed to a court hearing in Zaranj.
He says the bomb was planted by "enemies of the state."
Officials use the term to describe the Taliban and their hard-line allies who often use roadside bombs.
